Frequently Asked Questions

Residential and Commercial Window Film
Solar and security window films are advanced solutions designed to enhance the performance and safety of residential windows.

How is Architectural window tint priced?
Architectural window film is priced by square footage. We measure the glass opening. Our price includes installation, materials, warranty, etc. Other factors may increase the overall cost, such as having to remove existing film (removal is hourly), high reaching window panels or french pane metal bars.
Can I have daytime AND nighttime privacy with Architectural Film?
Decorative window film provides both day and nighttime privacy by blocking the visibility from both INSIDE and OUTSIDE (think of a white frost window film like you might see in a bathroom). This is a great option for bathroom windows and entry door side panels. Even though visibility is blocked in order to create privacy, light transmission is usually over 80%, providing hight amounts of natural light.

Can window tint provide privacy?
There are many window film options that will provide daytime privacy while allowing clear and unobstructed visibilty from the inside out. At night, when its dark outside and the lights inside are on, the effect reverses and privacy goes away. You can always see in the direction where it is brightest from the side it is darkest.
Does window tint have to be shiny or reflective on the outside?
Window film does not have to be dark or "mirrored" in order to be effective. There are many clear and undetectable window film options that will allow more natural light while still rejecting unwanted heat and UV rays.
Does residential window tint have to be dark?
Window film does not have to be dark in order to be effective, just like automotive film. There are many clear and undetectable window film options that will allow more natural light while still rejecting unwanted heat. Nano-Ceramic Films are where you find performance without darkness.

Will does my newly installed window film have bubbles?
It is very common for the newly installed film to show evidence of water bubbles, as it is part of the drying process. This is simply residual moisture trapped under the film that evaporates as the film cures to the window. Depending on the film, and what direction the window faces, it can from 30 up to 60 days for all the moisture to evaporate.
What is the warranty on window tinting installation?
Warranties differ based on the type of film that is being installed. XPEL VISION Series Architectural films come with a 3-15 year warranty depending on what kind of film you decide on with most films offering 10 or 15 years.

What is Solar Window Film?
Solar window film is a thin, multi-layered polyester material that is applied to the interior surface of windows. It is specifically engineered to control the passage of solar energy into rooms, offering several benefits:
Solar window film reduces heat gain by blocking a significant portion of the sun's infrared radiation and heat. This helps maintain a more consistent indoor temperature, reducing the reliance on air conditioning during hot weather. Additionally, it blocks a substantial amount of harmful UV rays, which not only protects furnishings and decor from fading but also contributes to a healthier indoor environment by reducing the risk of skin damage.
What is Security Window Film?
Security window film is a robust, tear-resistant polyester material that is applied to the interior of windows. It is designed to strengthen the glass and hold it together in case of breakage. Key benefits include:
Security window film enhances the security of residential windows by making it more difficult for intruders to break through. Even if the glass is shattered, the film holds the broken pieces together, reducing the risk of injury from sharp glass fragments and slowing down forced entry attempts.

Energy Cost Savings
-Reduced Cooling Costs: Lower energy bills by decreasing the need for air conditioning.
-Extended HVAC Lifespan: Reduced workload on HVAC systems can lead to longer equipment lifespan and lower maintenance costs.
-Energy Efficiency
By reducing heat gain in the summer and heat loss in the winter, window film helps maintain a more stable indoor temperature.
